CM pays last respects to late Tan Sri Abang Khalid

KUCHING, Feb 5: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday (Feb 4) paid his last respects to the late Tan Sri Abang Khalid Marzuki who passed away on Friday morning (Feb 4).

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, the late Abang Khalid who was the Malaysian Association of Malay Vehicle Importers and Traders (PEKEMA) Sarawak branch president died at 5.43am due to bowel cancer.

Upon arrival, Abang Johari had the opportunity to perform the funeral prayers before the body was buried at the Samariang Islamic Cemetery.

Apart from leading PEKEMA Sarawak, Abang Khalid was also the Sarawak Sepak Takraw Association president and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Samariang branch deputy chief.

Abang Khalid left behind his widow, Puan Sri Lily Johari, seven children, and eight grandchildren. — DayakDaily
