The proposal also included retaining both PBB deputy presidents, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

Addressing the attendees, Dr Ripin reiterated the branch’s unwavering commitment to upholding the rights and autonomy of Sarawak, as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), the Inter-Governmental Committee (IGC) Report, the Federal Constitution, and the Constitution Of The State Of Sarawak.

“We, as grassroots leaders and representatives of every branch, will always stand firmly behind our leadership, including the Sarawak Premier and the top leadership of PBB,” he stated.

The other proposals are:

  • A resolution affirming support for the GPS coalition government and its ongoing efforts to champion the rights of Sarawak under MA63 and the IGC.
  • A call for the Sarawak government to consider the establishment of an international school, under Yayasan Sarawak, in the Lambir constituency to enhance educational opportunities for the community.

The TGM also saw strong expressions of support for Sarawak’s leadership under the stewardship of Abang Johari, with Dr Ripin emphasising the branch’s dedication to advancing the State’s interests. — DayakDaily
