KOTA KINABALU, Jan 15: Parti Sedar Rakyat (Sedar) will contest all seats in the next Sabah election, says its president Datuk Othman Abdillah.
He said the newly-minted Sedar Sabah Chapter already has potential candidates on standby and are targeting 100,000 members this year, a Sabah online news outlet reported.
“As of now, we already have 4,000 members,” Othman told reporters after officiating at Sedar Sabah Chapter’s first annual general meeting (AGM) at Sabah International Convention Centre here on Jan 13.
The 17th Sabah State election is expected to be held by Dec 9, 2025 at the latest, pursuant to Clause 21(4) of the Constitution of Sabah.
Sedar which is a Sarawak-based party was formed in June 2018 and received the approval to go national from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) in August 2023.
