KUCHING, Jan 15: An ex-soldier has been ordered to keep the peace on a six-month bond of RM1,000 by the Magistrates’ Court after assaulting his wife, causing minor injuries to her arms.

The 30-year-old pleaded guilty to the charges under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code after the accusation was read before Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi.

Zubaidah ordered the accused to keep the peace for six months with a bond of RM1,000 and a local surety.

According to the charges, he committed the act against his 42-year-old wife at their residence in Kampung Tabuan Dayak around 8.30pm on January 6.

The accused’s actions were triggered by the discovery of his wife’s infidelity, revealed through images and videos shared by her on social media.

During the incident, the complainant’s husband forcefully grabbed her arms and pushed her against the house wall. As a result, her arms were bruised, and she experienced pain in her chest.

The complainant admitted to having an extramarital affair after learning that her husband had been discharged from the military and not retired, as she initially believed.

The prosecution was handled by Inspector Nur Shafiqa Nyaie Ilin, while the accused was not represented by legal counsel. — DayakDaily
