PANTU, Aug 9: The need for a secondary school in Pantu has become increasingly important amid growing demand for education, particularly to provide students and families in surrounding areas with closer, safer, and more conducive access to secondary education.
According to Sri Aman MP Dato Sri Doris Sophia Brodie, the facility could also potentially reduce students’ reliance on travelling back and forth or staying far from their families to obtain secondary education.
At the same time, she said the school’s construction was expected to help ease the burden on parents, particularly transportation costs and living expenses.
“Education is a key foundation in human capital development. Therefore, the provision of adequate, high-quality educational facilities must be prioritised in line with the growth of the local population.
“I hope the outcome of the engagement session will strengthen the working paper and justification for the proposal to be submitted to the relevant authorities for consideration and further action,” she said during an engagement session involving all stakeholders to discuss the progress of the working paper and the proposal process for the school held at the Pantu District Office on Aug 8, as reported by TVS.
Touching on the meeting, she said it served as a platform to gather views, input, and support from all parties to ensure that the proposal to build the secondary school could be considered and realised for the benefit of the local community.
She said the continued efforts by all parties were hoped to pave the way for the realisation of the Pantu community’s aspiration to have its own secondary school for the future of its children and generations to come. — DayakDaily
