KUCHING, Jan 3: Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei welcomes contention from any individuals interested to contest against him in the upcoming Sarawak Election due in 2021.
He said State Reform Party (Star) president Lina Soo was not the only one.
“Apart from Lina Soo’s announcement, there was an announcement of intention to contest in Padungan by two selected potential candidates from SUPP (Sarawak United Peoples’ Party), both MBKS (Kuching South City Hall) councillors,” Wong told DayakDaily.
Despite the dissolution of Sarawak State Assembly yet to be announced, he said he already felt the “competitiveness”, particularly in Padungan constituency.
“I am sure the coming battle in Padungan will be interesting, and I wish all the best to my potential opponents,” said Wong.
Wong also hoped that the high spirit of contention in Padungan will turn into positive energy to bring the best service to the people.
Soo made the announcement at a press conference here yesterday that she would contest in Padungan in the upcoming Sarawak Election.
Meanwhile, SUPP Kuching branch had also recently unveiled its cards by announcing two potential candidates for Padungan.
