KUCHING, Jan 2: State Reform Party Sarawak (Star) is going to contest in 22 seats for the upcoming Sarawak state election due in 2021.

“We will not be going for all the 82 seats,” said Star president Lina Soo during a press conference here today where she also outlined Star’s agenda for 2020.

“Our objective is to prevent any coalition, either the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) or Pakatan Harapan (PH) from forming the (next) state government.

“Both PH and GPS have proven that they have failed miserably to meet the needs and aspirations of the people of Sarawak after 57 years.

“Star wants to be the balancing force and equaliser as well as be a voice for the people in the State Legislative Assembly if we are voted in.”

She opined that by having an alternative balancing force in DUN, it would help to safeguard Sarawak’s political future and territorial integrity.

She reminded Sarawakians that the people must vote intelligently to save the state from the potential of a political disaster.—DayakDaily
