TANJONG MANIS, May 11: Over 200 residents will benefit from the completion of the pavement works of the 700-metre long Jalan Sebayang/Tusok here.
Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the completed project worth RM580,000 would facilitate the transportation of the local residents’ agricultural and fishery products.
“The project was put under my 2019 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) allocation and the initial cost was supposed to be RM700,000.
“However, after the project quotation was opened, the actual cost calculated was RM580,000. Therefore, the remaining balance of the initial allocation had been utilised for the implementation of other projects,” he said in his Facebook post yesterday.
Datuk Len who is also the Assistant Minister of Urban Development and Resources, further said the project was part of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) State government’s commitment to develop the basic facilities for the people. — DayakDaily
