KUCHING, March 14: Over 1,000 runners from Kuching are expected to participate in the Sarawak Youth Run 2019 this Saturday (March 16).
The event, to be held at Le Park, Kuching Civic Centre, is organised by the Youth and Sports Development Division of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports.
A press release today stated that the event is divided into Men, Women and Veteran (men and women) categories, while the run is divided into three routes: 4km, 5km and 7km.
There will be a Zumba session for all participants as part of their warm-up before the run that starts at 7am.
The official flag-off ceremony and prize presentation will be performed by Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who will be accompanied by Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Snowdan Lawan.
Entrance is free and limited T-shirts are given only to 300 participants who have registered on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Finisher medals are also limited and are given only to the first 50 finishers in each category.
