KUCHING, Dec 28: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok branch will focus on three key priorities—education, development, and welfare—for its 2024-2027 term, with significant initiatives set to commence next year.

In a news report by TVS, Satok assemblyman Dato Ibrahim Baki emphasised the importance of education, particularly promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among primary school students.

“We will place greater emphasis on education because it is critically important. Our efforts will focus on raising education standards, starting with primary schools, where we aim to foster interest in STEM subjects.

“We also plan to organise more STEM carnivals, following the success of this year’s event, which attracted over 2,000 to 3,000 participants,” he said during a media interview after officiating the PBB Satok Branch, Youth, and Women’s Wing Representative Meeting for the 2024-2027 term today.

Ibrahim highlighted that PBB Satok Branch has successfully fulfilled its responsibilities by providing excellent services to the community throughout the 2022-2024 session.

He acknowledged that the new committee for the 2024-2027 session would face many challenges and emphasised the need for all parties to play their part in supporting the policies introduced by the Sarawak government.

He stressed that continuous support and cooperation from all PBB members—who form a key pillar of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), led by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg—are vital as GPS has brought significant benefits to the people of Sarawak through initiatives such as the Post-Covid Development Strategy (PCDS), new economic policies, welfare programmes, and education reforms.

“Under the leadership of our Premier, the GPS government—supported by PBB as its backbone—is strong and effective. His leadership has brought tangible benefits to all Sarawakians and paved the way for a better future for our people, including future generations.

“Through PCDS, new economic policies, welfare programmes, education, and more, I urge everyone to continue playing an active role in ensuring the success of the Premier’s policies, which we hold in high regard,” he called on.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining unity within PBB, urging members to avoid power struggles and remain focused on the primary goal of delivering the best possible service to the community.

As a crucial component of GPS, he said unity and discipline must be upheld to prevent internal discord.

“We must work hard to strengthen our unity and discipline, ensuring that we avoid chaos within our ranks. PBB is strong and serves as the backbone of GPS. If anything happens to PBB, GPS will also feel the impact. PBB must remain strong and united, as long as we maintain that unity and discipline,” he concluded. — DayakDaily
