KUCHING, Sept 28: The 12th edition of the Serian Rafting Challenge Festival 2024 saw a total of 114 participants.
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, the event was held at Kampung Tema Mawang in Tebedu and officiated by Serian MP Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem.
Prior to that, Riot also released Lampam fish seedlings in Batang Kayan as a symbolic gesture for the conservation of the river ecosystem.
Apart from promoting Batang Kayan, Batang Sadong, and its surrounding villages, such as Kampung Tema Mawan and Kampung Tebekang in Serian, the event also provides opportunities for locals to generate income through business activities.
It also helps promote sports and encourages the younger generation to lead a healthier lifestyle. — DayakDaily
