MARUDI, Nov 16: A total of 15 summonses were issued during Ops Didik at SMK Long Lama on Thursday, targeting various offences, including the absence of helmets.
Other violations recorded during the operation included riding motorcycles to school without a valid license and illegal modifications to the vehicles.
Marudi police chief DSP Mohd Ruslan Mat Kib reported that 30 motorcycles were inspected during the two-hour operation, which commenced at 12.50pm.
Ruslan stated that routine checks, part of the police Ops Didik initiative, aim to educate students on road safety, particularly those who commute to schools on motorcycles.
The summonses issued serve as a reminder and reinforcement of adherence to traffic regulations among students. — DayakDaily
