SERIAN, April 3: Continuous efforts will be made to register the people in Serian for Covid-19 vaccination.

In pointing out this, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus said this was because most people in housing estates and rental houses have yet to register themselves.

According to him, such a scenario came to light during a recent meeting, which he also attended.

“In Serian, the population is more than 100,000 and only slightly more than 50 per cent of the total population has registered.

“So in view of this, we will intensify and continue with the effort, together with the Information Department to create awareness to get the people to register themselves through the various available existing channels,” John told reporters today.

However, he added that the percentage excluded those who may have registered via MySejahtera application.

He has earlier distributed brochures at a LePaPa Hypermarket, here together with State Information director Suwadi Gululing.

John also said that those who have yet to register themselves for the Covid-19 jabs have the option to go to health clinics in Serian like in Tebedu, Tebakang, Tarat, Balai Ringin and Triboh.

He also pointed out that people in longhouses or villages have the option to register with the village chiefs, who will then send the registration to District Offices. — DayakDaily
