Ongkili: MA63 Special Council to hold first meeting this month

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3: The first meeting of the Special Council on Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) is expected to be held this month.

According to a Bernama report, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili said the council will also look into the immediate execution of decisions made by the previous Cabinet Committee.

“This proves the sincerity of the federal government in executing the rights of Sabah and Sarawak as provided by law and enshrined in the Constitution,” he said in a written reply to Sipitang MP Yamani Hafez Musa who wanted to know about the development of the on the Special Council.

To recap, the formation of the Special Council on MA63 was approved during a Federal Cabinet meeting on Sept 9.

The establishment of the council was announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during the Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 in Sibu. — DayakDaily
