BINTULU, June 22: The communities have been urged not to spread any false information or news to encourage people to go for their Covid-19 vaccination at Bintulu polyclinic without appointments as ‘walk-ins’ are not allowed.

Bintulu Division Health Officer Dr Melvin Chung emphasised that this was to prevent congestion and crowding at the polyclinic.

“We are still prioritising those who have registered with the MySejahtera app in which they have missed their appointments but have been given special appointments under health clinics.

“Apart from that, we are also still following the appointments that have been issued by MySejahtera,” he told the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) when met yesterday (June 21).

As such, he called on the public not to spread any inaccurate and incorrect information to prevent causing congestion and disruption at the vaccination centres.

On another matter, Chung reported that 11 individuals including foreign workers were compounded for not checking in with the MySejahtera app, not wearing face masks and holding physical meetings, while two premises were fined for allowing more than 30 per cent employees at work.

He emphasised that a lot of people had still failed to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) despite the high number of cases in Bintulu.

“Even though the communities are busy with the Movement Control Order (MCO), companies or factories must adhere to the SOP issued by the National Security Council (NCS),” he reminded.

Chung had yesterday joined an integrated operation on compliance of MCO SOP at Kemena Industry.

The total compounds issued during the operation amounted to RM39,000. — DayakDaily
