Nine clusters contribute 44 new cases to state’s Covid-19 tally

KUCHING, Feb 28: Nine clusters out of a total of 27 active clusters throughout the state reported 44 new Covid-19 cases as of today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today revealed the nine active clusters comprise the Emperoh Jambu and Jalan Green clusters in Kuching, Jalan Yong and Jalan Gelong clusters in Kapit, Jalan Muhibbah cluster in Betong, Jalan Kejatau cluster in Sri Aman, Seruas cluster in Beluru, Rakut cluster in Miri, and Pasai cluster in Sibu.

“The Jalan Muhibbah cluster in Betong recorded an additional 15 new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 67, followed by the Pasai Cluster with 12 new cases, pushing the total number of cases in the cluster to 2,664, while the Emperoh Jambu cluster also saw five new cases today bringing the total tally in the cluster to 165 cases.


“Other clusters which also reported new cases are Jalan Yong Kapit cluster (four), Jalan Gelong cluster (three), Seruas cluster (two), and one case each for Jalan Green cluster, Jalan Kejatau cluster, and Rakit cluster,” it said.

According to SDMC, the remaining 18 active clusters including the Buluh cluster, Jalan Ho Pin cluster, Geronggang cluster, Mas Merah cluster, Univista cluster, Kidurong Dua cluster, Nanga Lijan cluster, Sebangkoi cluster, Jun Heng cluster, Bintang Daily cluster, Jalan Pingiran cluster, Tabong cluster, Indah Riang cluster, Bedayan cluster, Bukit Sekubong cluster, and Jelita cluster recorded zero additional cases.

“The Tangap (Subis) sub-cluster also recorded zero new cases for today,” the statement added. — DayakDaily
