Newcomer Anyi Jana wins Ngemah for GPS

KUCHING, Dec 18: A newcomer in the 12th Sarawak Election, Anyi Jana has won the N49 Ngemah seat with 3,193 votes.

The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate won with a small majority of 261 votes, defeating Dr Joseph Jawa Anak Kendawang from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) who garnered 2,932 votes.

Three other contenders; Leo Anak Bunsu from Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB), Satu Anchom from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Charlie Anak Genam from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) lost their deposits after managing only 354, 259 and 169 votes, respectively.

Anyi was announced as the candidate for GPS in Ngemah constituency for the 12th Sarawak Election, replacing its two-time incumbent Alexander Vincent. — DayakDaily
