KUCHING, Aug 25: A cluster of 66 new Covid-19 positive cases have been confirmed among villagers of Kampung Opar in Bau.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily report on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, reported that of the total cases linked to the new Opar Cluster, three cases were registered today.
A total of 131 individuals have been screened, whereby 40 tested negative while 25 are still awaiting lab test results.
All cases have been admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) as well as Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) Kuching for treatment and isolation.
With one new cluster declared but no existing clusters announced, this increased the number of active clusters in Sarawak to 119.
Of that, 29 existing clusters have registered an increase in daily infections with a total of 225 cases contributed to the daily caseload of 1,667 today. — DayakDaily
