KUCHING, Dec 18: New candidate Dr Simon Sinang Buda has bagged another win for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as he garnered 5,082 votes in N21 Tebedu.
Sinang was leading with a 3,273 majority, beating Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) candidate Cheyne Kambeng with 1,809 votes.
Other candidates who joined this battle at Tebedu and lost their deposits are Jonathan Lantik from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) — 614 votes, Senior William Made from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) — 610 votes, and independent Roland Bangu — 106 votes.
Sinang who is the political secretary to the chief minister will succeed his predecessor Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong, who has represented the Tebedu seat for five terms since 1996. — DayakDaily
