KUCHING, Nov 24: Negotiations on who will hold the top post as prime minister of the country are still ongoing, says Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“Still negotiating, just wait,” Abang Johari answered briefly when asked by media at about 4.30pm to comment on Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) MPs’ audience with the King this morning.

He refused to divulge more but left in a vehicle after today’s proceedings at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here.

The Sarawak Legislative Assembly has been in session since Monday (Nov 21) and will continue for another seven days until Nov 30.

This followed Abang Johari’s meeting with GPS chief whip Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof who had appeared at DUN complex around 3.30pm after flying back from Kuala Lumpur after being called to meet with the King.

Fadillah when met at DUN Complex also refused to answer the questions posed by the media.

“No comment. If you want to know more, you can ask the Premier,” said Fadillah.

With him were GPS secretary general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi (Kapit MP), Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) deputy president Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem (Serian MP), Progressive Democratic Party President Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing (Bintulu MP) and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) vice president Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang (MP Kanowit).

Earlier this morning, Fadillah and the four had appeared before the King at Istana Negara, where is believed to have discussed the appointment of the 10th Prime Minister and the formation of the Federal government following the conclusion of the 15th General Election.  — DayakDaily
