KUCHING, Feb 15: Federal Minister of National Unity Minister Dato Sri Aaron Ago Dagang is among 123 individuals who were conferred with State awards and medals from the 8th Sarawak governor, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the State Legislative Assembly Complex here today.
Other than Aaron, nine other individuals received the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak (PNBS) which carries the title ‘Dato Sri’.
They are Minister in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai; Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi; Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn; Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Board of Directors chairman Tan Sri Sulong Matjeraie; Chief Commissioner of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Tan Sri Azam Baki; former Assistant Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communications Dato Sri Wahab Dollah; former Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry Dato Sri Mohamad Naroden Majais; former Sarawak Public Service Commission chairman Dato Sri Abdul Ghafur Shariff and Malaysia-Turkey Friendship (MTF) Foundation chief executive officer Dato Sri Dr Qamarul Naim Mohamad Faizal.
Twelve individuals received the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang (PGBK), which carries the title ‘Datuk’.
They are former UAE ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Datuk Khalid Ghanim Mohammad Alghaith (Honorary); Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya; Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Aidel Lariwoo; Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat; Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam; Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat; Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang; former Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mohamad Azman Ahmad Sapri; Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) chief executive officer Datuk Sharbini Suhaili and former Member of Parliament for Rajang Datuk Jawan Empaling.
Eleven individuals received the Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak (DJBS) which carries the title ‘Datu’. They are Datu Hasmawati Sapawi, Datu Chew Chee Yau, Datu Azmi Bujang, Datu Wong Hee Seng, Datu Lester Matthew, Datu Felicia Tan, Datu Ir Richard Tajan, Datu Elean Mersa’at, Datu Ir Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi, Datu Dr Adrian Susin Ambud and Datu Khalidi Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, 21 individuals received their Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS) award which allows them to carry the title ‘Dato’.
They are Deputy Minister of Heath Malaysia Dato Lukanisman Awang Sauni; Telang Usan assemblyman Dato Dennis Ngau; Batu Danau assemblyman Dato Paulus Palu Gumang; Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang; Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan; Dato Mohamad Trang Issa; Dato Andul Rahman Sebli Senusi; Abang Shamsuddin Abang Seruji; Dato Mohammad Ibrahim; Major General Dato Hassan Embong; Dato Abang Affandi Abang Annuar; Dato Halmi Hazmi; Dato Dr Saadiah Abdul Samat; Dato Dr Kalwinder Singh Khaira; Dato Syeed Mohd Hussein Wan Abdul Rahman; Dato Yeo Tiong Chia; Dato Temenggong Harrison Lading Lunsa; Lt-Col (Retired) Dato Anwar Basah Khan Zakaria; Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) group chief executive officer Dato Janin Girie;Â Dato Abang Noordin Abang Zainuddin, and Dato Noordin Abang Zainuddin.
Two individuals received the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK); two received the Johan Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (JPC); 22 received the Pingat Perhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC); 17 received the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS); 11 received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK); and 15 received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB).
These awards and medals were bestowed last year in conjunction with the official birthday of the 7th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud. — DayakDaily
