KUCHING, Feb 16: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for six districts in Sarawak.
According to MetMalaysia in an advisory issued at 4.30pm today, the affected districts are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sibu and Selangau.
The department said anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds which will remain in effect until 7pm.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/ hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for the maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
