KUCHING, March 10: MyVi Borneo Club plans to pay a return visit to its Indonesian counterparts, the Sirion Indonesia Club in Pontianak next year.
According to MyVi Borneo Club president Andiazrul Johan, Sarawak and Indonesia’s strategic cooperation to develop a hydroelectric dam in Nusantara, Indonesia’s new capital city, means that there will be new roads for people to travel on.
“I would like to reveal a little surprise, as I have talked to Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu (Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports) that the MyVi Borneo Club would carry out a return visit to Pontianak, Indonesia next year.
“From that trip, we will bring the image of Malaysia and Sarawak in particular, to Pontianak.
“I felt touched upon learning that the Sirion Indonesia Club delegation Is willing to travel at 2am, from Pontianak passing through Tebedu and Biawak borders to Kuching, just for us to get to know each other,” he said during MyVi Borneo Club’s 9th Anniversary and Family Day event held at Sumiran Eco Park and Resort in Batu Kawa here earlier tonight.
The event was officiated by political secretary to Premier of Sarawak, Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup, who represented Rentap.
Established in May 2014, MyVi Borneo Club so far has over 500 members including those residing in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah.
Additionally, the MyVi Borneo Club’s 9th Anniversary and Family Day event commenced from today until March 12.
On March 12, the participants will have a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme at Sri Kenangan Siburan in Serian which would be flagged off by Rentap and Consul General of Indonesia Raden Sigit Witjaksono.
Also present were Penghulu of Batu Kawa Sariee Mansor, Sirion Indonesia Club Pontianak Chapter president Rizky Fajary Lestiawan, MyVi Borneo Club advisor Mohd Termizi Zolpata, MyVi Borneo Sabah representative Hafizan Hamil, and Sumiran Eco Park and Resort managing director Sudaryo Osman. — DayakDaily
