KUCHING, Oct 9: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang assures that the council is looking into the damaged road issues along Jalan Segedup in Batu Kawa here.
Lo, who is also Batu Kitang assemblyman, explained that there was a major road construction going on and the contractor had used heavy vehicles to move construction materials along the road, thus damaging the road in the process.
“The contractor involved will have to repair the road, and we will ensure that minimal inconveniences will affect the people along Jalan Segedup, including in Kampung Segedup,” he assured.
Lo was responding to reporters on complaints made by the residents along Jalan Segedup on the damaged road condition.
Earlier on, he handed over the Kampung Haji Baki community hall project to the awarded contractor in a simple ceremony held at Darul Ehsan Mosque, today.
Meanwhile, Lo also appealed to the public to stop illegal building construction and extension in Padawan area as it would contribute to more complications in the future.
“I would like to advise everybody to not do it. If everybody does not obey the law and starts expanding according to their own plan, it would mess up the whole city planning, and the whole place will become dirty and unhealthy,” he added.
He also advised the public to have the sense of ownership of their surroundings, and at the same time keep the environment clean. –DayakDaily.
