KUCHING, Aug 23: A motorcyclist was killed in an accident that occurred along the Bau-Serikin road near Kampung Pinomu today.
According to a statement, Bau district police chief DSP Dr Daram Ruer said the accident was believed to have occurred at around 6.10am following a collision with a car.
“The driver of the car, who was travelling along the stretch of road, could not avoid the victim, which resulted in a collision,” he said, adding that medical personnel from Bau Hospital confirmed the motorcyclist’s death at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and police have urged witnesses or those with information on the accident to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the nearest police station.
Police reminded all road users to always stay alert, ensure their vehicles are in good condition, and practise tolerance on the road for the safety and wellbeing of all. — DayakDaily
