Missing boy’s father absent from Court, warrant of arrest issued

KUCHING, March 29: The Magistrate’s Court here issued a warrant of arrest for the father of missing 4-year-old Eric Chang who was charged with administering amphetamine and methamphetamine.

Lee Fook Chuan, 31, was charged under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 15(1) of the same Act which carries a fine not exceeding RM5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding two years.


According to the charge sheet, Lee was charged with administering amphetamine and methamphetamine at Kuching District Narcotics Crime Investigation Office, at about 1.54pm on November 12, 2020.

He was charged at the Magistrate’s Court on March 22 but he had tested positive for Covid-19 at the time and the case was adjourned to today.

However, he was absent from today’s hearing and a warrant of arrest was issued by Magistrate Zaiton Anuar who fixed the case for mention on April 21.

Prosecuting Officer Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
