Miri police nab 13, including 7 Vietnamese women, for suspected drug offences during raid

MIRI, Jan 30: Seven Vietnamese women were amongst 13 individuals detained on suspicion of abusing illegal substances during a police raid on an entertainment outlet at Centre Point Commercial Centre in the wee hours today.

According to Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol, a total of 26 individuals were inspected during the 1.30am raid, and 13 tested positive for drugs.

The raid was conducted by Miri Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID).

“Amongst those arrested, four are locals,” he said.

All suspects are currently being detained for investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
