MIRI, March 11: The remaining members of the ‘Ah Ho gang’ which is believed to be behind a string of car thefts involving Brunei-registered vehicles for the past few months, were detained by police last night.
The suspects were detained by a Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team following an ambush at a house in Pujut 4C here around 8pm.
Last month, five people suspected to be members of the ‘Ah Ho’ gang were nabbed and seven cars bearing Brunei plate numbers were recovered.
According to Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol, all suspects are currently being being detained at Miri Central police station (CPS) for questioning.
The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for car theft. — DayakDaily
