Miri MP Chiew announces bid for PKR branch chief in 2025 party elections

MIRI, March 2: Miri Member of Parliament (Miri MP) Chiew Choon Man has officially declared his candidacy for the position of Miri branch chief in the 2025 Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) elections.

“With great determination and a deep sense of responsibility, I am pleased to announce my willingness to stand as a candidate for Miri branch chief in the 2025 PKR elections,” Chiew stated yesterday.

Expressing his gratitude to former Miri MP Dr Michael Teo for his leadership, Chiew acknowledged Teo’s instrumental role in shaping and strengthening PKR’s Miri branch.

“Under his leadership, the branch has navigated various challenges yet remained steadfast in its reformist struggle. His invaluable contributions of time, energy, and effort in championing PKR’s principles are deeply appreciated and will always be remembered.”

Chiew also confirmed that Dr Michael Teo would continue to serve as the branch’s advisor, ensuring that his experience and guidance remain a cornerstone of the movement.

“We will continue to seek his insights to keep PKR’s fight in Miri strong and firmly rooted in genuine reformist values. His role as a mentor and source of inspiration is crucial in ensuring a leadership transition that is both principled and effective,” he said

Chiew reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the existing team led by Dr Michael Teo while welcoming the participation of new, dynamic members.

“With a combination of experienced leadership and fresh energy, we will build a stronger, more dynamic team ready to serve both the party and the people of Miri.”

Calling for unity among PKR Miri members, Chiew emphasised the need for collective strength to maintain the branch’s relevance and influence.

“With solidarity and unwavering commitment, we will not only strengthen the party but also bring about meaningful change for the people of Miri,” he said. – DayakDaily
