KUALA LUMPUR, June 20: The Ministry of Primary Industries has terminated Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz’s contract of service as senior private secretary to the Deputy Minister of Primary Industries effective June 18.
Haziq has been in the media limelight since he stepped forward to admit to being one of the individuals in a gay sex video clip which has been widely circulated online and through social media platforms. He made these claims in a video which was uploaded to Facebook. He had also claimed that the other person was Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
According to a press statement, the ministry viewed the ‘sordid’ admission as a very serious violation of its values, ethics and the Code of Conduct, Public Officers Regulations. Pursuant to the same, the ministry had issued Haziq with a show cause letter to which he has responded to and the ministry was not satisfied.
“The Ministry wishes to categorically assert that it will never tolerate any such scandalous behaviour amongst any of its staff members which brings the Ministry into disrepute and odium. With this, the Ministry completely disassociates itself with Mr Haziq Abdullah,” the ministry said via the statement. — DayakDaily
