Minister: RM35 mln agro-research lab set to begin construction in Sebuyau, focused on coconut replanting

KUCHING, April 25: The construction project for the agro-research laboratory in Sebuyau, worth RM35 million, is set to commence this year.

According to a TVS news report today, the Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (MUT) Sarawak, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, stated that the laboratory will focus on replanting coconut plants in the district.

“So, the area from Sebangan to Sebuyau is suitable for replanting, and we have identified fertile areas to do so.

“God willing, this year will start, and we have a comprehensive plan that will be implemented with the cooperation of Unimas (Universiti Malaysia Sarawak),” he was quoted as saying in the news report.

Julaihi, who is also Sebuyau assemblyman, made the remarks when met by reporters after making a courtesy call on the Sarawak Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar today at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here.

The minister also stated that the courtesy visit was intended to extend an invitation to Wan Junaidi and his wife to officiate the Sebuyau District Aidilfitri Ramah Tamah 2024 on Saturday, April 27. — DayakDaily
