MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for south and central Sarawak (March 28)

KUCHING, March 28: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak this evening.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Kapit (Song and Belaga), Bintulu (Bintulu and Sebauh) and Miri (Miri and Marudi).


The warning issued at 4pm today remains in effect until 7pm.

A warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour or with the bad weather expected to last for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours for every release. — DayakDaily
