KUCHING, Feb 19: All tamu and markets under the jurisdiction of Miri City Council (MCC) will undergo a sanitising process on a daily basis beginning today.

This announcement was made by MCC Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang in a press statement today, saying that it is an additional safety measure taken to safeguard the traders as well as the general public patronising the markets and tamu during the current Covid-19 outbreak.

“The stallholders and general public also should not take the Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) lightly and continue to practise safe hygiene such as washing their hands, maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks.

Yii reminded tamu and market patrons should continue to undergo a body temperature scanning and “check-in” before entering the markets and tamu.

The normal and general cleaning of the tamu and market, including its maintenance works will still be carried out as usual. — DayakDaily
