KUCHING, March 15: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng handed over 22 green garbage bins to residents of Kampung Lumba Kuda under ‘Program Penggantian Tong Sampah Beroda’ (Wheeled Garbage Bin Replacement Programme) on March 12 at Surau Darul Akhirat, Jalan Lumba Kuda.

According to a press statement, the programme was a collaboration between the council and Trienekens Sarawak Sdn Bhd to replace green garbage bins for Kuching South residents as their current bins have been damaged.

Wee also thanked Trienekens Sarawak for its willingness to collaborate with the council.

He said it was timely as damaged bins could result in waste spillage, causing an unpleasant smell or an eyesore.

“We need to play our part in keeping Kuching City clean at all times. Kuching City has received recognition from the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard, so we need everyone’s cooperation in keeping our city clean and beautiful,” he said.

He also urged residents to contact Trienekens Sarawak if their garbage bins are damaged. — DayakDaily
