KUCHING, April 6: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng is warning the public against the fake ‘mayor’ on social media, who named themselves ‘Weehong Seng’.

Wee clarified that the ‘Weehong Seng’ account was not his, and urged those who came across the fake account to report it and take the impersonator to task.

“This is not my genuine account. This individual is impersonating my identity using a fake account and is trying to add everyone on my Facebook page.

“Please be aware and do not reply or accept his or her requests. I’m grateful if you could spend a few minutes to report the fraudulent account. Thank you and be blessed,” he said on social media yesterday (April 5).

In the post, Wee also attached some screenshots showing the impersonator greeting the commenters and urging the public to accept their Facebook friend’s requests. — DayakDaily
