KUCHING, May 16: Thirty-eight organisations received minor rural project (MRP) funds amounting to RM461,500 from Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing at his office, here, today.
The disbursement came under Phase II of Masing’s MRP grants for this year.
Among the recipients are Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), sports clubs and societies from places outside Kapit.
Masing, who is also the Baleh assemblyman and Minister for Infrastructure Development and Transportation, had presented similar funds under the same phase to 24 organisations in Kapit last week, totalling RM350,600.
This brings the total number of recipients to 62, amounting to RM812,100 under Phase II.
Also present at the simple ceremony were Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports Datuk Snowdan Lawan and Dato Sri Doris Sophia Brodie, who is a political secretary to the Chief Minister. — DayakDaily
