Marudi improves to Covid-19 green zone as Julau reverts to yellow zone

KUCHING, May 17: Marudi district recovered, as Julau returned to the status of yellow zone of Covid-19 from the orange zone while other districts’ statuses also remain unchanged today.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, Marudi reported zero new infection cases in the past 14 days, bringing the total number of districts with the green zone status to five.

SDMC said Julau also went from the orange zone status to the yellow zone status with only 17 infection cases reported in the district in the last two weeks.


Currently, the statement added, a total of 26 districts are with the red status, followed by one district with orange status, and eight with yellow status.

On the same note, SDMC said as of today, the districts with the red status are namely Tebedu, Betong, Pusa, Belaga, Bau, Sri Aman, Sebauh, Lundu, Pakan, Song, Bukit Mabong, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

Tatau is the only district with the orange status with Julau, Matu, Tanjung Manis, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Limbang, and Lawas as the eight districts with the yellow status, while Marudi, Simunjan Asajaya, Telang Usan and Kabong are in green zone status. — DayakDaily
