Man who escaped from police lock-up in Miri re-arrested

MIRI, Jan 2: A 20-something man who had escaped from the Miri Central Police Station lock-up on Nov 15 last year was re-arrested at about 1pm today.

The suspect, who was initially nabbed under the Prevention of Crime Act 1959 (POCA), was caught near an eatery along Jalan Bendahara here.

A team from Miri CID rushed to the area following a public tip-off.


On Nov 15, it was understood that he had escaped by slipping into the bushes behind the Miri Fish Market. — DayakDaily
