KAPIT, Oct 22: A man and two teenage boys died after being involved in an accident at Jalan Mujong, Ulak Tapang, Baleh, yesterday (Oct 21).
Kapit police chief, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Rohana Nanu, said that the victims, aged between 15 and 23, died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
“The police received a report of the accident at 5.30pm, and investigation at the scene found that all the victims were riding motorcycles from Jalan Mujong to Jalan Selirik.
“They were believed to be involved in illegal racing,” said Rohana when contacted today.
According to Rohana, the victims were also found not to have valid licenses to ride the motorcycles.
“The bodies have been sent to Kapit Hospital at 11.30pm, and the case is being investigated in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.” — DayakDaily
