KUCHING, Jan 22: A local man has been sentenced to six months’ jail by the Magistrates Court here today for assaulting his younger sister.
Amierul Hanasaffizan Kaha, 32, employed at a second-hand clothing store, pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 323 of the Penal Code which was concurrently read with Section 326A of the same code.
Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan ordered the accused to begin serving his prison sentence immediately.
The incident occurred at their residence in Taman Dahlia, Matang, around 8.17 pm on January 13, where the accused intentionally caused injury to his 15-year-old sister.
The assault was prompted by the victim’s complaint to their mother about the accused’s aggressive behavior.
The prosecution was led by Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang, while the accused did not have legal representation. — DayakDaily
