KUCHING, Oct 7: A man was killed after his motorcycle skidded and crashed into a lamp post at KM17, Kampung Tanjung Bowang along Jalan Singai-Sagah in Bau on Sunday (Oct 5).
Bau District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the accident occurred around 4.48pm involving a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle.
“Preliminary investigation found that the victim, who was travelling from Musi towards Kampung Singai, lost control and skidded to the left shoulder of the road before crashing into a metal streetlight pole by the roadside,” he said yesterday (Oct 6) in a TVS report.
The impact threw the victim and his motorcycle into the grassy area by the roadside, where he was later confirmed dead by paramedics from Bau Hospital.
Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and witnesses are urged to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigation. — DayakDaily
