Man arrested to assist Medan Jaya murder case in Bintulu

BINTULU, June 9: A man has been arrested to assist in the investigation of the Medan Jaya murder case.

Bintulu District Police Chief SUPT Batholomew Umpit said the 57-year-old suspect was arrested at around 10.30pm on Wednesday (June 7) at a housing estate here.

He said the suspect will be remanded until June 13 for further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

“The motive of the murder is still under police investigation,” said Batholomew in a statement today.

At 8.28pm on June 7, the victim was found lying in a pool of blood with injuries to his head.

The victim, who was a local resident, was later confirmed dead.

The public is advised not to make any speculations or spread rumours with regard to the case to avoid any confusion and unnecessary panic.  — DayakDaily
