Man arrested in Sibu after police find drugs hidden in juice packets

The drugs were found hidden in these juice packets.

SIBU, May 9: A 37-year-old man has been detained for possession of dangerous drugs yesterday.

Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the Narcotics Investigation Department  arrested the suspect in Lorong Pahlawan at about 8am.

“When searched, six juice packets suspected to contain a mixture of ecstasy drugs with a gross weight of 246.28 grammes, two transparent plastic packets containing crystal solids suspected to be methamphetamine with a gross weight of 101.00 grammes and two transparent plastic packets containing crystal lumps suspected to be ketamine with estimated gross weight of 2.10 grammes were found on the suspect,” he said.


The total gross weight of the seizure was 349.38 grammes with a current street value estimated to be RM22,729.

Zulkipli said a urine screening test conducted on the suspect also tested positive for the drugs methamphetamine and benzodiazepine.

The suspect was arrested under Section 39b of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act. ​​— DayakDaily
