KUCHING, Dec 29: The MamaCare programme not only provides holistic postpartum care for mothers, but also helps women, the elderly, and single mothers generate income, says Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Dato Sri Nancy Shukri.

Nancy stated this today during her visit to the MamaCare Mini Spa at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Kuching here.

During the visit, MamaCare UTC Kuching manager Rosemawati Bolhassan briefed Nancy, who was accompanied by Sarawak National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) director Shahriah Saharom.

ā€œSarawak organised the MamaCare programme in 2014, and there are currently 120 MamaCare practitioners throughout Sarawak.

ā€œI believe this is a good programme, particularly for those who are looking to generate income, and I hope that more people will utilise the MamaCare service due to its reasonable payment rate,ā€ said Rosemawati.

The MamaCare programme was implemented at LPPKN Sarawak in 2014, and a total of 120 practitioners have been registered in Sarawak as of 2019.

The holistic postpartum care service aims to improve the reproductive health and well-being of women and their families, as well as to train women, the elderly, and single mothers, particularly those from low-income households, to generate family income. ā€” DayakDaily
