Malaysia Airlines clarifies no emergency landing declared at Miri Airport

KUCHING, Feb 12: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has clarified that flight MH2574 which departed from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to Miri, did not make an emergency landing at Miri Airport as reported yesterday (Feb 11).

According to a statement by MAS today, the aircraft experienced a technical anomaly.

“As a precautionary measure, the operating crew requested additional time from Air Traffic Control (ATC) to complete the required checklist before an approach was made to ensure safe landing.


“The crew did not declare any emergency to ATC and safety was not compromised at any time.

“Emergency services were placed on alert as a precaution. Safety remains of utmost importance to Malaysia Airlines,” said the statement. — DayakDaily
