SERIAN, Oct 18: A 53-year-old lorry driver was injured after he was pinned to his seat during a head-on collision with another vehicle at Jalan Serian-Tebedu today.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency call at 9.18am and switfly mobilised a team from Serian Station to the scene.
The accident involved a one-tonne lorry travelling from the direction of Serian, which collided with a Toyota Innova driven by an Indonesian man coming from the direction of Tebedu.
The collision caused the lorry driver’s right leg to become trapped after the front of the lorry was severely crushed due to the impact of the accident.
Firefighters employed rescue tools to remove the lorry driver from his seat. The victim received immediate medical attention before being transferred to the care of paramedics.
Firefighters also proceeded to clear the roads of debris from the crash. — DayakDaily
