KUCHING, April 9: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has issued Mukah a Level 1 (Alert) heatwave alert at 4.30pm today.
According to the department, a Level 1 warning is issued when temperatures at a location are between 35°C and 37°C for three consecutive days.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to occur in two districts in Sarawak.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia), the two districts are Kapit (Belaga) and Bintulu (Sebauh).
A warning was issued to the two areas at 6.40pm today and is valid until 9pm tonight.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release,” said the department. — DayakDaily
