KUCHING, Dec 17: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for N41 Kuala Rajang Datuk Len Talif Salleh wants voters to grant him a strong mandate to have a louder say among the State and even Federal supreme leadership affairs.
He urged voters to give him their support to make the rollout of the constituency’s development plans easier.
“There are still a lot of developments to be carried out and many involve basic amenities. So, whether you vote for me or not, I will get the projects running.
“But why not just support me for the better? So I have the face to ask for more money from the chief minister for this and that.
“If I have a strong mandate, my voice can be louder,” he said during a Facebook live session streamed from Belawai beach today.
Meanwhile, when asked for comments on his opponents in Kuala Rajang, Len Talif said it was common in the local political scene to have people contesting just “to try their luck”.
He asserted, however, that politics is about serving the constituents and not about luck.
“If anyone is contesting looking for fun, then there’s no need (to contest). I don’t know about the agendas of other people, but to me, mine is to build a developed and comfortable place for future generations to come.
“Because I don’t want our children and grandchildren to go through what I’ve gone through in the past. So, I hope voters of Kuala Rajang will assess for themselves who can and cannot fulfill their aspirations.
“It’s up to them to decide anyway,” said Len Talif who is also Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment. — DayakDaily
