LAWAS, Nov 8: The people of Lawas want Sabah State Railway services to be extended to them, says incumbent Lawas MP Henry Sum Agong.
He said Lawas has a good relationship with the neighboring state of Sabah, which now has land transport facilities such as trains (Sabah State Railway).
“So I had a discussion with them in Sabah where the Sabah side wants to bring the service (to Lawas) but now the railway extension has yet to reach Sepitang.
“And there is a request from the community in Lawas that the train may be brought to Lawas through discussion with the State of Sabah.
“This is a project that the people of Lawas want for the future,” he said during the Sarawakku Sayang programme in Lawas which was livestreamed by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) on Facebook today. — DayakDaily
