Landslide hits Engkilili longhouse; damages several rooms, kitchen wall

KUCHING, Oct 11: A landslide damaged five ‘doors’ (‘bilik’) of Rumah Unsa Sekandis longhouse in Engkilili following continuous rainfall.

According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre today, overnight rainfall also caused the water level at Sungai Kesit to rise.

It said the landslide caused damage to the kitchen wall and the affected doors.

A total of 76 residents were affected, and evacuations were conducted.
